Since I was a little girl, I’ve been fascinated by the beauty of nature. I remember living in New York and being mesmerized by the delightful snow. I would collect it and put it next to the windowpane at night. The next morning, it wasn’t a pretty sight to see, a little 5-year-old girl in tears, when she found out the snow had melted.
I look back and have such sweet memories of playing with my dolls in my mom‘s garden, imagining that the tall plants were trees.
I even gave rice to the ants, because I loved watching them carrying their food into their home. I built tents under the trees and never felt alone. All this is to say that this fascination has never stopped. Do you recall a special childhood memory of being in nature? I have so many memories. I talk to the animals, complementing them on how beautiful they are. I hug my friends, the trees, and show them my appreciation. I speak to their branches, and believe it or not they salute me back.
There’s nothing more endearing than watching baby ducklings walking alongside their mama and jumping in the water without a care in the world. They truly make my heart fill with tenderness.
I love watching the birds fly over the lake. Their sense of freedom speaks to me about the many possibilities life has to offer. The majesty of the trees, the birds singing their sweet songs, our planet Earth is a truly wondrous place.
However, what takes my breath away is the dance between our earth and the sun.
The effects of this graceful and fluid movement between them, creates the most astonishing sunrises and sunsets. They are like unique paintings, reflecting the most beautiful hues I’ve ever seen. They inspire me to write songs, poetry, and reflections.
I take every opportunity I can to chase a sunset. Do you love sunsets? Where have you seen your favorite one?
I want to tell you about a particular day in the month of May 2022, where I watched the most gorgeous sunset. It felt that the sunset and I were so connected that I could feel God’s heartbeat. Check out the poem.
I took a minute to write a few ideas, take some photos and videotape the magnificent scene. It was an experience filled with so much love; the love that our creator has for us. I hope this poem makes your soul feel what I experienced that day. Perhaps it will encourage you to go out and have your own experience with our golden sun!
